Air Pollution

Breastfeeding may diminish the adverse effects of air pollution and despite the risks associated with the che1mical contamination of breastmilk, lactating parents should be encouraged to breastfeed their infants. Breastfeeding benefits outweigh the potential health risks. Moreover, breastfeeding has a limited ecological footprint and its contribution to sustainability and food security should be considered in environmental goals and policies.
